With the loving guidance of my mother-in-law, I began to learn this beautiful art form, and I haven’t looked back since!

What You’ll Need to Get Started

Before you unleash your creativity, gather these essential supplies:

1. Yarn: Choose a medium-weight yarn (like worsted weight) in a light color—perfect for seeing those lovely stitches!
2. Crochet Hook: Grab a size H (5 mm) or I (5.5 mm) hook, a great choice for beginners.
3. Scissors: Keep a trusty pair of scissors handy for snipping your yarn.

Mastering the Basics: Essential Stitches

Ready to get stitching? Here are three foundational stitches to start your crochet journey:

Materials:

• Acryl/ Cotton with Acryl
• Size H crochet hook (5mm)
  
  Personally, I used a begginer type of yarn (you can choose by prefference):
       -  The investition is not too big
       -  You won't regret if at the beggining you're wasting a less expensive yarn
       -  Easy to work with 

Let's practice a bit:

This is the way my mother in law teached me how to start it too 

1. Chain 26: Start with a foundation chain of 26.
2. Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, make a single crochet. Continue across (25 sc).
3. Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. Make a single crochet in each stitch across (25 sc).
4. Repeat Row 2 until your dishcloth is square (about 25 rows).
5. Finish: Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail, and pull it through the last loop. Weave in the ends with your tapestry needle.
